The Orange Shirt Society is the official organization of Orange Shirt Day, which originated here in Williams Lake in 2013, when Phyllis Webstad shared her story of going to residential school. The society creates awareness of the intergenerational impacts of Indian Residential Schools, the concept of Every Child Matters and supports residential school Reconciliation.
